All About The Japanese Therapy of Seitai

Rachit: – Saitai is a combination of many energies balancing techniques and helped me with my chronic pain. This was one of those therapies from where my confidence on alternate medicine strengthened.

Q) What is Seitai?

It is an alternative healing therapy in Japan, a method that activates the natural healing power of the body by determining the source of a problem, and restoring the proper skeletal frame by realigning body parts including the backbone, pelvis, etc.

The key benefits of this ancient art are: –

  • Relaxes the body.
  • Improve blood flow.
  • Heal body injuries, naturally.
  • Reduce body pain.

A practitioner first manually examines the condition of each vertebra and then manipulates the specific vertebra or selected points on the muscles on either side of the vertebra to induce a direct effect on the muscle, as well as an indirect effect on the related vertebra and body part. It combines the essence of hidden techniques of the masters of various healing therapies that existed in Japan at the time of the Second World War.

Q) What is the Basic Theory of Seitai?

“What does it mean to be healthy?” might be, “That’s easy! Being healthy means not being sick.”

This may seem correct, but is it really true?

Another might say, “I am confident of my health. I haven’t caught a single cold during the entire year.”

From the Seitai point of view, however, the individual who never catches a cold is not healthy. A body that is properly sensitive to catching a cold under natural conditions is regarded as healthy. In other words, this is the condition of the body we refer to as Seitai-a body in good order. On the contrary, a body that seldom catches a cold is considered to be dull and insensitive.

From the Seitai point of view, the human body becomes sick in order to cure problems that arise in the body. In other words, the body initiates various responses to rid itself of accumulated problems when they exceed the manageable limit for that particular individual. This normal function of the body is generally referred to as “illness” or “disease.” It, however, regards these symptoms as the body’s natural response to restore itself to its original condition.

The Backbone influences the whole body

The human body is supported by the spinal column or backbone. The spinal column is comprised of a series of 24 articulated bones called vertebrae. The ability of the vertebrae to move freely and independently enables the various complex and dynamic movements of the body, such as bending, twisting, and stretching.

As well as providing the chief support for the body and functioning as the central axis of the body’s movement, the spinal column encases the spinal cord. The brain and spinal cord make up the central nervous system and a peripheral nervous system branches out from the spinal cord to all other parts of the body. For this reason, an injury to the spinal column usually results in a serious disability.

There are several reasons why the body has become stiff in modern society, overwork, overeating, excessive stress, incorrect post-natal care, excessive physical exercises, and suppressing symptoms with medicines, etc.. Mostly due to the distortion of the body frame due to the downward shift of the pelvis. The spinal column, the lumbar, the pelvis, and the core vertical axis of the body is of utmost importance for human beings to function properly.

Q) What kind of diseases is Setai capable of treating?

Relief from body pain, Sciatica, Knee pain, Herniated Disk, Chronic Lower back pain, Rheumatism, Stomach cramps, Gout, Hemorrhoids, Stiff joints, Indigestion, Diarrhea, Insomnia, and many others.

Q) Why try Alternative Healing therapies like Seitai?

Simply put, the approach of modern Western medical science is one of symptomatic treatment aimed at suppressing symptoms when they appear, taking some form of supplement when the body is lacking something, and removing a body part when it is diseased. Modern Western medical science is adept at addressing the symptoms but does not appear to adequately pinpoint the source of the problem.

The human body has the power to restore itself naturally to its normal condition from common illness and injury without external interference. This we call the body’s natural healing power. While this natural healing power works unconsciously, various factors that weaken or obstruct its ability to function are revealed to the Seitai practitioner when examining the condition of the body’s skeletal frame and muscles.

  • Seitai Practitioner, Ms. Michiko, learned this art from her master, Mr. Kuniaki Imoto. She has been practicing it for more than two decades. During the process of her practice, for a long time, her own techniques have significantly changed from those of the original Seitai.
